UER Rickenbacker

The sudden attack triggered the movement sensor of the turret, and just as Damon left the room, the Archeus was put down by a clean shot through his neck. The alien fell limp to the ground while the turret whirred around in order to find the other participant of the battle. But the sensors of its room told that he was no longer there, and the turret was lifted harmlessly back into the roof, where the hatch closed after it.

Kirito noticed this in the system, as the firing had given out a short alarm through the computer system. Quickly, she got the video of it in view, and could do nothing but stare as she watched the replay. Watching the Archeus getting killed, and Damon got away.
Disappointed, she turned off the video, and instead continued her search after Jackson.

On the same time, the computer once again went through the cameras of the sector, and a movement triggered one of the sensors, easily giving away their target's location.

In the surgery room, another turret was lowered down. The low whirr it made was still deafening in the silence.

Damon had just finished bandaging up his arm when he heard something whirring up high in the ceiling. A camera? Or a turret? Damon lowered himself, just until only his head was showing, peeking over the surgical table that had been kicked next to the medpack. He looked around, but with the lights mostly off or flickering, it was hard to tell.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Ops Deck, Jackson was tracking any survivors he could find aboard the ship. So far, he'd found the marines from the Von Braun, several security guards down on engineering, Damon, Daniels, a lone marine somewhere on recreation, and a man and a woman running from hybrids, all on camera. It was just his luck that most of the cameras were still functional, though some had been destroyed by the cyborg or by survivors not wanting to be seen. Huh. Lot of good that did them.

The turret kept rotating slowly on its hold, trying to spot any kind of movement with its small camera mounted on it. It was made clear that the ship's weaponry system wasn't made for these cramped spaces and lack of light made it shift its focus all the time; whenever a light flashed, just to go off in the next minute, the turret spun around as if the light itself had caught its attention.

Another of the fluorescents flickered, this time revealing the small portion of Damon's head that was visible from over the turned over surgical table. As before, the turret turned around to scan the area while it was lighted, but still didn't find anything.
Then the light went out once again, and the turret kept its slow phase, spinning while it searched.

Meanwhile, Kirito had finally found something interesting.
As she had turned around one corner, she was finally faced with several more choices than just following the ordinary bare corridor that had led her here. This passage had its wall lined by doors, leading into unknown rooms or other unseen corridors. Perhaps to the room where Jackson was hiding.
As said, this corridor promised more choices.

Decided, the cyborg walked up to the first and closes door, lifted her foot and then rammed it against the door. The steel door flung up and banged against the wall. As it slowly returning to its original place, Kirito calmly reached out with her hand and stopped it half-way to the opening. Her body followed her hand, and she entered the room. The pitch black room.
Without further notice, the cyborg activated her NVD built into her vision and scanned the room. No luck here. This certain room seemed to be a resting place for the now late rebels, with a small bed in the corner, next to a sink. The place didn't look all too different to a ship cabin, but it most definitely wasn't the place where she could find Jackson.
With her NVD switching off, she left the room as it was, its door wide open to reveal the black interior.
Then she gazed upon the rest of the rooms. Chances were that they were just like the cabin she just had scanned, but she couldn't afford losing her target because of laziness.

Taking advantage of the faulty lights, Damon made a dash for the door while the room was pitch black. He had just made it to the door when the lights flickered on again and the turret locked onto him again. The door opened and Damon exited the room just as the turret put several rounds clean through the door, severely denting it.

Several rooms away found Damon at the elevator again, leant against the wall, checking his wounds. They weren't all bad, but one round from that Archeus' rifle had hit him in the ribs, and judging from the throbbing pain, one or more were broken. Still, he couldn't let this stop him from completing his mission, though whatever his mission had been, it wasn't now. Since they had lost the shuttle pilots in the flight deck, it had been a case of keep moving or die. Damon knew all too well what that meant.

Elsewhere in the ship, Jackson was tracking the movements of the few marines that had escaped the Von Braun alive. A few of them had been injured on the way, though they seemed to be getting through the command deck with few hindrances, due to the fact that the command deck was the least infected by the hybrids, and the only deck that held out against the hybrids, thanks to the extensive security systems.
Jackson smiled and then switched the feed over to some kind of crew quarters area on the same deck. Almost instantly, he saw the cyborg searching the cabins for Jackson, currently having little luck.

Five more had been searched through, meaning six rooms investigated overall. Six rooms out of ten. Four possibilities left. Four chances to find Jackson, at least in this corridor.
Kirito eyed the corridor with the ten rooms, five door lining each wall. She didn't sigh, didn't snort. If she could feel frustration, she probably would have. The six rooms before had been pretty much identical, cabins for the now late crew, each having a bed of its own and a small sink - and she had a feeling that the four remaining rooms would be just as identical as the rest.

But she couldn't slack. If she would let Jackson get away because of laziness, then not only she, but also Master would be more than disappointed in her. If his servant would see between her fingers this time, what said that she wouldn't the next time? Besides, servants were so easy to find. And to become just his servant... well, many would fight to their death to get the opportunity.

No, Kirito wouldn't slack, wouldn't pass one single spot of the ship without looking it through. And something told her that Jackson was hiding on this certain deck, the Operations level.

Kronos stopped for a moment. He had reached the elevator of this deck, and now he glanced upon the panel that displayed the name of the deck where the car was currently parked.
Where to? He had been left in the lurch, and had no idea where Kirito had left to. Would he just search through the ship randomly? Or could he just try to figure out where the cyborg had gone, judging on her prime target and its possible location? Or would he just try to get in contact with her through a camera or something.
Kirito wouldn't be happy if she would get interrupted by the chimaere - he doubted that she hardly would even listen..

Besides, Kronos was more than capable of taking care on his own... as long he wouldn't be ambushed in human shape, as proven before. That had been a disappointing moment... both to the cyborg and to the chimaere. Although he didn't hate Narrah, he still didn't like him and wasn't so fond of the dark master as the cyborg was. Her fondness was in a class of its own.
He didn't hate Narrah, and he didn't like him, so he would hardly give a rat **** about what he and his servant would think of his action, but he didn't like appearing as a weak being, hence he hated whenever he would get in situations that worked against him. And being weak also meant being needing anybody.

Grunting some, Kronos watched the elevator gate slid open to reveal the interior of the car, and then entered. He would search through the ship of his own. Hunting the hybrids and humans he would meet. And he would make sure that he would do just fine without the cyborg helping - or rather, interfering.

When Damon clicked the panel to access the elevator, it was up on a higher deck. Apparently someone had used it only seconds before him. Not good. Determined to get some answers, Damon set the elevator to go to Operations. The doors slid shut, and the elevator was on it's way up.

On the Operations deck, Damon stepped out of the elevator, almost immediately noticing a long blood trail leading into the the elevator from just outside it. Not good. Deciding to follow the blood trail, Damon headed over to bulkhead 42 and went through.
On the other side, Damon noticed more blood just around a corner and got in closer. It was a mess. Blood splattered on the walls and the floor, what looked like a mutilated corpse, and another blood trail leading away from the corridor. Something told him the cyborg had been behind this. Curious, Damon followed the second blood trail, which led him a long way.
Eventually, the trail led Damon into a small office with monitors showing security feed of the different sections of the deck. Damon immediately turned to where the trail ended, and laying against the wall right beside the door was a hybrid corpse. On closer inspection, Damon realized the hybrid had once been a security officer. The name tag read Rudinski, Jake. Damon sighed. Further inspection of the room revealed a dead worm-like creature in a jar, and a laptop which was already logged in. The login name was Myers, C, another person Damon had never heard of before. He checked the laptop, but it was damaged slightly and he couldn't access all the files, much to his disappointment.

Eventually, Damon left the room and continued up the previous corridor, passing a few unmarked rooms along the way, all until he reached another bulkhead, marked Bulkhead 41. And barely ten feet away from the bulkhead lay a corpse. Whoever it had been, apparently someone, or something had literally torn it's brain out, which had likely killed it instantaneously. Damon sighed and checked his weapon. How many more fallen victims would he pass before he uncovered the truth?

All the ten doors were by now wide open - some barely hanging from their hinges - when the cyborg scanned the interior of the last room. Then she withdrew her head from the cabin and instead surveyed the corridor. Negative. No Jackson here. No one at all.

The cyborg tilted her head up slightly as her eyes focused on a video camera mounted in the corner of the corridor. A weak, red light blinked on it, showing that the camera was working and recording. The black lens of the camera stared straight into the cyborg's eyes, and for a moment it seemed like they were measuring each other, juding. Looking for a soul to grip, souls that weren't there.
Kirito stared back, cold, unmoved. Staring into the lens and past it, into whoever was watching the screen of the video.

Her mind moved back to the video surveilance section of her system, connected to the ship's computer wireless.

She scanned the section briefly, looking through several videos for each second, searching for older videos that could hint where Jackson could be hiding.
Occasionally, she did get a picture of the Von Braun captain. She could follow him through a few cameras, but then he would disappear once again - probably avoiding to wander into the areas in which the cameras were surveying.

No success at here either. Kirito once again focused at the corridor again, her eyes left the camera as nothing had happened. Then she started to move forward again.

The cameras followed the cyborg as she walked. They took over each other's surveying whenever she left one camera's area and entered another ones.
But suddenly, without warning, she suddenly disappeared, leaving one screen and did not enter the other one.

Damon had just walked seven paces from the bulkhead when his comm started emitting loud feedback static. He picked it up and was about to click it off when someone started speaking through it. It was Daniels.
"...****. Finally. Damon, you still there? Christ. Someone's been blocking out my comm signal, who, I don't know, though it may have been Jackson...listen, forget Jackson. We need to focus on getting off this ship, but I have to stay in contact otherwise he'll just block me out again..." she said to Damon, who hadn't heard from her in nearly an hour.
"Also, I've been checking the security feed privately. I haven't seen a whole lot from that cyborg, though I may have seen Jackson a few times, though I can't seem to find him again...also, I saw that...thing that the cyborg was working alongside when our pilots were killed...oh ****! I just remembered! I think one of them had the shuttle key with them...if we find a shuttle or something we're gonna need that key card. If you get time, can you get back to the flight lounge and...get it off the body? Sorry..." Daniels explained to Damon in surprise. But Damon, for once was a bit relieved. At least now he had something to go on, instead of just pacing the ship until something popped up out of the blue. Deciding to head to the flight deck, he continued through the Operations deck, looking for a bulkhead to the lobby.

The elevator stopped at the Medical deck and Kronos entered the level. A silent wind passed through the corridor as he did, stroking him over his back witha faint chill. Kronos hardly took any notice of it.

Instead, he sunk down onto his knees and hands, just as he once again morphed. His legs and arms extended, his body and head grew large and powerful - jaws were lined with teeth, muscles built on muscles. His body slowly faded into a new colour, and the pale beige of a human was replaced with the sickening grey-blue skin. Eventually, his eyes morphed into one shining eye globe. Then he stretched his body, great 8 meter up in the air. Then The Beast grnted and started to move again. Time to search through this deck also.

Damon stepped into the elevator and set it to a deck lower down. The doors shut, and he was on his way.

Soon, he was back at the access corridor leading to the flight area. Not taking any chances, Damon drew his weapon and hurried through the door, making sure it shut behind him.
The lounge was how he'd left it. The security checkpoint overlooking the room was locked down due to the incident with their pilots. On the other side of the seating area in the middle was a corpse. Damon sighed and walked up to it. He checked the gear. Yep, it was certainly one of the pilots. Not wanting to waste time there, Damon quickly rifled through his pockets, but found nothing. In fact, it took him about two minutes to realize that the keycard was lying in a pool of blood eleven feet away. But when Damon picked it up, something jogged into his mind. Where was the other pilot? He'd been killed, or at least knocked down here. He could tell by the blood. But where was the body?

The cyborg once again appeared in the video monitors. One half of her body was still shrouded in the shadows from the strip lights running down the hallway, the other half was illuminated by them. Her eyes were locked at the wall opposite the one she stood by, a wall lined by big, shaded panes.
There wasn't much to see from the interior, for behind the glass she saw that thick smoke had begun to rise, and was blocking out much of the interior. But the flickering lights from monitors were still visible, and she quickly estimated the ammount of screens to be ten or more. Perhaps a controll room.

She kept her ground by the shadows, patiently waiting. Occasionally her vision switched focus, and instead locked at a camera aimed at her direction farther of. The small, red light was blinking on this one too.

Damon was about to head straight back to the elevator and return to...whatever he had been doing, but he suddenly halted where he was and turned around. He sighed. He just couldn't leave without taking another look at his trashed shuttle. He didn't know why, but he just did.
As the double doors slid open, Damon entered the shuttle bay. As before, it was completely silent, what he thought was wind blowing past him. The bay doors that the shuttles would enter the ship through were shut, locked down for security measures. Huh. Lotta good that had done them. Sealing themselves inside the ship.
Damon then looked over the railing, and saw it. Their shuttle was scattered across the bay floor below the railing where it had fell. Sabotaged by the hybrids to stop them from escaping. Damon then looked in the other direction, but there were no other shuttles in the current bay. Maybe he would have better luck in the other bays.

Meanwhile, Jackson was toting a shotgun while at the same time he was watching the cyborg on the security cameras. He smiled and whispered "I see you...do you see me?"

She shot one last glance at the camera before she walked over to the glass. Lights were flashing in there, illuminating the smoke from inside. Perhaps there would be humans hiding in here; it would be a good cover for any survivor, and the computers might be able to get access to the ship system.

Kirito glanced to her right, and noticed a big steel door leading into the controll room.
At command, the door slid open, and thick, black smoke welled out as it did. Poisonous, black smoke.
But that didn't bother the cyborg, as she casually walked into the smoke and entered the room. Behind her shut the door once again, locking in the smoke and her once again. And any possible survivor inside.
Her infra-red vision flicked on, and she stared into the glowing, blinking screens across the room.

Shuttle Bay 2 was very similar to Shuttle Bay 1, except there was a shuttle still there and much more cargo loaded around. Wanting to put the shuttle card to use, Damon rushed over to the shuttle and stopped only when he noticed the corpse of a security guard sprawled beside it. Damon wasn't much of an optimist, but he could tell he had been dead a long time.
Inside the shuttle, Damon was even more curious. There was another dead security guard inside, apparently having sustained much more serious injuries. From what Damon could tell, the shuttle was still operational.
In the cockpit, Damon then tried to make sense of the controls. He'd flown marine shuttles during his time as a soldier, but these company shuttles were designed differently, and Damon couldn't make sense of the controls. But his efforts had not been in vain.
Minutes later, Damon had pulled an audio file out of the shuttle's memory banks. Maybe it could tell him what the shuttle was still doing on the ship. Quickly, he loaded it into his comm and clicked it on. Immediately, two familiar voices started emitting from the file. The feedback was very crackly, but he could hear it.
"Captain"
"What is it?"
"One of the shuttles has taken off early"
"Only one? What about the others?"
"They stayed on the planet, sir..." the voices said. Damon scratched his head. One voice was apparently the captain, though he didn't recognize the other. But then there was more. The file continued to play.
"Shuttle Four, this is the captain. What happened to the other shuttles? Answer me!" the captain's voice emitted from the recording. There was brief static, then a third, stranger voice.
"This is Shuttle Four here. There were some unexpected obstacles. I'm afraid we have lost the rest. Requesting permission to dock"
"...uh...Shuttle Four, permission to dock granted. Welcome back..."
It ended there. Damon played it back a few times, then thought hard. The third voice hadn't sounded right. Could the cyborg have entered the ship through this shuttle?
He didn't have time to think it over. Hybrid footsteps against the metal floor could be heard outside the shuttle. Damon stared through the cockpit windscreen and saw it. It was slowly moving towards the dead guard's corpse outside, it's eyes filled with hunger. Damon slowly stepped back to the shuttle door and peeked out. The hybrid had reached the corpse, and was bending over it hungrily. Damon seized the chance and stepped out, firing at the creature, not even giving it time to get up before it went down.

Kirito looked around through the smoke. The room had several different hues of green in her NVD, the monitors of the computers glowed bright white. Her breath was deep, and everytime she breathed, a low whirr could be heard as her filters were working to filtrate the air. The thick smoke enveloped her body, but her mechanic was able to survive in it without major trouble.

Her foot suddenly bumped into something, and when she looked down she saw a rifle lying on the floor by her foot. Crouching down and reaching for it, the cyborg watched for any videocameras. There were none. At least none that could see through this smoke.

She got up once again, but this time it wasn't the cyborg that stood there. It was a human. A rebel soldier. A gas mask covered his face, and his crackling breath sounded over the hissing machines of the controll room.
The man loaded the rifle over his shoulder and then walked over to the computer monitors, watching them.

Suddenly, a filing cabinet fell down on the steel floor with a loud bang, and the man spun around, pointing his weapon towards the turned over cabinet.

Damon had just reached the flight lounge when his comm started up again. It wasn't Daniels.
"You are quite the interesting one, aren't you? After all this, you still press on, you and your bitchy little subordinate...you don't have to worry about the cyborg, she's too focused on me to care what you're doing...but I have plans for you...as you're about to see" Jackson's voice emitted from the comm. Damon clicked it off and kept on going. Jackson was toying with him, and enjoyed it all the same. But he had just reached the elevator when a vent grating burst behind him. He looked around to see Jackson's creature crawl out of the vent and stare at him menacingly. Damon was surprised. Apparently it hadn't been killed back on Recreational. Jabbing the elevator panel, he watched as the creature slowly shifted towards him, growling in delight.
The creature had just reached him when the elevator doors opened and Damon dashed in, literally punching the panel to get it to go down. The creature took one more looked at Damon, it's eyes red with anger, before the doors shut and the elevator was going down.

Down on Engineering, two marines were carefully scouting Cargo Bay A, weapons high. The other three marines were in Engineering Control, maintaining radio contact with them at all times.
"You got anything down there?" one of the marines in control asked through the radio.
Nah. But those things are supposed to be packing in this deck, so in a matter of speaking...maybe" the voice replied.

The man slowly walked over towards the cabinet, which by now was lying still, no more signs of anything living could be there.
Still, he reached forward with his arm - the other one grasping the rifle and keeping it cocked - and then pushed the cabinet aside. As said, there was no one there, but he did spot the claw marks across the steel floor, inching down through it.
Not a good sign.

He got back up again and then returned to the monitors. Inside his mask and his eye, he flicked up a the same screening of the ship, identical to the one he saw on the monitors. The view then disappeared within his vision. He glanced up on the walls, and did indeed see the weak, red light of a camera farther away. Though it was drowned in smoke, and it could by no way had seen him morph from the cyborg into the human he represented now.

He glanced back towards the room and hung the rifle back over his shoulder.
"Hello?" He finally said, just in case there was any survivors in here.

Down in Engineering, the marines were pushing on, now exiting the cargo bay with minimal injuries. The marines in the control room were still surveying the camera feeds. A few feeds were offline, as they had been sabotaged by the cyborg, but the majority of the ship's cameras were still online.
"Anything down in the Cargo Bay?"
"No sir...well we did find a few hybrids, plus there was a hacked droid stuck in a crate. We...we left it..."
"...just get back here on the double. I don't know how long we've got left before Jackson picks us up on the cameras...

Little did they know that Jackson already had found them on the cameras, and was watching their every move, as he was Jackson, Daniels and the cyborg.

Daniels meanwhile had opened up the door to the computer center she'd locked herself in, making damn sure the hybrids had gone. They had, apparently, and she could hear no noises in the vents or in the corridor.
"Guess this is Damon's thing...not mine" she remarked, pointing her pistol in the direction of the far door. There were scratch marks and signs of battering all over the door to the previous room, left by the hybrids no doubt.

Jackson meanwhile had pulled up several files out of the rebel databases he had hacked into, most of them outside the Aura System. Doing that, he'd retrieved several files on the people he was tracking. All except for Kirito, who had no file, although there were many references to her in files he'd checked originating from a few of the planets in the Aura System. He pulled up Damon's file.
"Andrew Damon, Male, 43. Born in Sierra City, California, USA. ship systems specialist, served fifteen years in the military, has years of combat experience..." Jackson read under his breath. Interesting. It explained where Damon had learned to survive as he had. Next up was Daniels' file, which was surprisingly well classified.
"Jane Daniels, Female, 25. Birthplace unknown. Used to be an op for the rebels" Jackson surveyed, wondering why her file had been so well classified. He tried finding a file on the Beast, who Jankowski had identified as Kronos, but couldn't find one. Strange people indeed. He also checked the records for Myers, Diego, Malick, Fettel and several other crew members, and found a surprising amount.

Damon meanwhile was now back on the Recreation Deck, wandering around for a bit. He was finding it hard though. Ever since he'd watched Fettel die in front of him, Damon had been...seeing things. Brief hallucinations, although they weren't common. And his vision had deterred a bit in some places, especially on the Medical Deck.

There was no response. And after having scanned the room with his infra-red vision, he assured himself that there was no one around. Time to leave this room. He stilll needed to find Jackson, to eliminate him. Already had he taken too much of Master's time, and he had to return to the Fire Planet as quick as possible in order to continue harvest the crops of the army.

The air-locks of the door once again opened and opened, releasing black smoke once again into the corridor. Then the doors slid back shut, letting the smoke sink to the floor and from there dissolve, leaving the man standing by the door. His face was still covered by the gasmask and his ragged breath was heard from the filter.
After having looked around him for a moment, he finally decided where to go, and then started to continue his search down the hallway.

Daniels had just entered the Mall area of the recreation deck when she once again heard the familiar growls of the creatures she had heard before. She looked up at the ceiling and frowned. The damn things were toying with her! And that's when she noticed the bodies.
Further down the Mall corridor were two corpses. Curious, Daniels holstered her weapon and rushed towards them, but they were definitely dead. She checked them. One corpse had had the neck twisted right around, snapping the neck and nearly severing the head. The other corpse had been disemboweled and the head crushed.
That cyborg is a crafty one...isn't she?" someone said behind her. Surprised, she turned around and pointed her weapon in the direction of the voice.
"I've never seen a thing such as her in my life...yet she is becoming a bother" the man said. Jackson.
"Huh? Cyborg?" Daniels just said in suspicion.
"And your friend, Damon. He is not wanted either" Jackson murmured.
"Who the hell are you?" Daniels asked Jackson sternly.
"Frank Jackson, Lieutenant Commander of the Von Braun and the rebel forces of Earth. The infestation is my...and Ben's work. The rest is the cyborg's doing"
"Ben?" Daniels was confused as to what Jackson was really getting at.
"My colleague who also worked here. He's dead. Got sucked out a bay door. His killer is also dead" Jackson told her, his expression not changing. He then looked up at a wall to his left and noticed a security camera fixed directly on him. Without hesitating, Jackson pointed the weapon he'd kept hidden at the camera and fired, disabling it.

Damon meanwhile had also entered the Mall, but from the other side. He was currently searching the different rooms for anything that told him where Daniels or the marines were.

The marines meanwhile were still on the Engineering deck, still sweeping the area, though they hadn't seen any hybrids for about half an hour now.
"You honestly think we're gonna get off this ship in less than three pieces?" one marine asked.
"I don't honestly think it, I just think it" another said, the one who was apparently leading the group.
Minutes later, a door opened in the security wing of the deck and two marines stepped through, both brandishing shotguns, as they'd been deemed most affective against hybrids. Currently, the area was empty of any life, save for the two marines. One marine stopped and turned to face the marines waiting outside the door.
"I think it's clear guys" he said in relief. The other marine kept on walking, making sure the other marine was correct.
He wasn't. The female marine had just made it to the other side of the room when something whirred above her. Puzzled, she looked up, and never looked back down. A turret descended from the ceiling and aimed at her, not even giving her the chance to blink before it blasted her.

The man suddenly froze in his walk. He was staring directly in front of him, but didn't seem to see anything before him. Before his eyes had videos from different cameras of the ship played, and a certain one had caught his interest. Although it had gone offline right after he had spotted him, he still had seen enough. It was Jackson. For sure. Standing before one of the survivors that had came along with Damon.

A nearly invicible spreaded on his face, but wasn't seen because of the mask covering his face.
Finally...
He slowly flexed his fingers as he backed a few steps, just to turn around in the next moment and start to walk back the same way he had come from. Towards the elevator.
Slowly, his walk turned into a jog, then a sprint. He had to hurry in case he wanted to catch Jackson.

The Beast grunted and hissed. The Medical deck was by now seemingly empty, except a few bodies of the ship crew, mixed with those of the hybrids. Whenever he found something living, except Archeus and Nexus, was quickly taken care of.

"You did this?" Daniels asked, Jackson still facing the camera?
"You could say that...though it was the actions of a single rebel that released the first worm..." Jackson explained, before holding up his comm and playing some kind of video recording. It was camera feed. Shown were the cyborg and the beast entering hydroponics. A rebel suddenly popped out and fired a shot at them, but missed. The bullet had hit a freezer which had contained the worms. The camera feed then fuzzed out and screams could be heard, likely the rebel being slaughtered. Jackson clicked the recording off and stared back at Daniels.
"Afterwards, I ordered Jankowski to release the rest. It was unexpected, but...it provided results...that same worm reached a rebel soldier and...they took him to the medlab and he...it killed several medical officers and got loose" Jackson said, grinning. Daniels said nothing, but kept her weapon pointed at him.

A few rooms away, Damon was checking up on the injury he'd sustained from the Archeus earlier. It's rifle slug had broken several ribs, but he could still move on fine. He then reloaded his weapon and exited the room he was in. Then he heard voices. Jackson? Maybe. Quietly, Damon kept on moving, weapon pointed straight ahead.

Meanwhile, down in Engeering, the marines were peering into the security center. The damn turret had popped out of nowhere and killed one of the marines.
"I thought they were on our side!" a marine yelled.
"Someone hacked it" another said. Suddenly, a vent grating burst out and a pair of hybrids leapt down and leapt at the marines.
"Oh ****!" someone yelled, as they jumped out of the way and began firing at the creatures. One marine hadn't been so lucky and was being torn apart by the two hybrids. The creatures didn't last long as they were cut down by the spray of bullets.
"Oh hell. I though this sector was clear!" the lead marine exclaimed, kneeling next to the downed marine. He checked, but he was too late. The marine was dead.
"Can we leave now?" someone asked.
